Optical Library Mirroring What is Mirroring?
Ultera's RapidStor™, RAILStor™(Redundant Array of Independent Libraries) and Stor2™ controllers are designed to assist in the implementation and management of Disaster Recovery Plans as well as enhance the automation processes of today’s sophisticated autoloaders and optical libraries. Ultera’s Mirrored autoloader, jukebox and optical library solutions create two exact copies at the same time with full robotics automation. Ultera’s unique implementation adds NO additional system overhead while maintaining total software transparency to the host. The result is additional flexibility and dependable performance.

The controllers appear to the host system as a single optical library with one or more optical drives ("Logical Drive Sets").   A "Logical Drive Set" consists of an array of up to 5 optical drives and is seen by the host as a single logical optical device ("Virtual Optical Drive").
Library RAID Whether your disaster recovery backup management strategy requires a single library, multiple libraries or autoloaders, Ultera's optical library mirroring storage solutions protect your data at a level no single optical library can provide.  

RapidStor™ controller provides data mirroring within a single optical library.  

RAILStor™ controller provides data mirroring across 2, 3, 4 or 5 optical libraries. 

Stor2™ controller provides data mirroring across 2 optical libraries.  

Each of these solutions support adding additional Optical RAID controllers to grow with seamless scalability.
Ultera's Optical RAID controllers also feature Stripe Mirror and Mixed Controller Cascading to provide flexible and scalable removable storage solutions to meet your needs.
