RAID Level 0 operation is referred to as
"byte striping" (2+0, 4+0). Ultera Optical RAID controllers are designed to optimize the transfer speeds of each
optical drive in a RAID set to produce a single virtual
optical drive that operates up to 4 times
faster with 4 times more online capacity than a single
optical drive. |

RAID Level 3
operates the same as Optical RAID Level 0 with the addition of a dedicated
parity optical drive to provide RAID fault tolerance(2+1, 4+1).
Backup and restore operations continue to operated without
interruption in the event of a media or optical drive
failure. |
