Mirrored Data Sets In the Time It Takes To Generate A Single Copy!
|
|
|
|
|
When
One Copy Just Isn't Enough |
|
Increased Overall System Performance
Simultaneously
create two identical backup tapes in real-time. No
additional software overhead. |
|
Increased Data Availability
Recover valuable data even if one tape becomes lost, stolen or damaged.
|
|
Increased Reliability Verify restored data automatically comparing tape
contents. Either copy can be used independently for recovery. |
|
Disaster Recovery Full fault tolerance
protection with user configurable disaster recovery options. |
|
100% Software Transparency
No software changes of any kind are required. For
current systems using tape, the imager 1 is plug and play
with "ALL" existing tape backup software. |
|
NT / Win 95 / 98 GUI
A full featured GUI for controlling and monitoring all
operating and off-line modes. |
|
Plug
Compatibility The Imager 1 controller is
presented to the host as a single SCSI tape drive
providing plug and play with host systems supporting
SCSI-1 and SCSI-2 tape protocols. |
|
Maximum Flexibility and
Control -
Four specific mirroring mode options, two disaster
recovery options, fault tolerant mode and two pass through
options. |
|
Robotics
Support – compatible with existing autoloader
and library software in both striping and mirroring
modes of operation. |
|
Offline Operations
The Imager 1 controller has built in hardware utilities
for: Tape Copy, Tape Compare, Tape Verify, Tape Drive
Diagnostics and "Self Test" Diagnostics. |
|

Host Interface |
Single-Ended (SE)
Interface - The host interface provides connection between
the Imager 1 mirroring controller and the SCSI host system.
It conforms to the SCSI-2 protocol while maintaining
compatibility to SCSI-1, 8 bit SCSI. Fast Synchronous
transfers combined with narrow transfers allows for a
maximum of 10 MB/sec burst data transfer rate. |
|
Array Interface |
Single-Ended (SE)
Interface - The drive interface provides 2 parallel SCSI
channels between the Imager 1 mirroring controller and the
tape drives. The 8 bit SCSI fast synchronous
transfers allow for a maximum of 10 MB/sec burst
data rate. Compatible with all SCSI-1 and SCSI-2 drives.
All major tape drives are supported. |
|
GUI for NT / Win 95 / 98 |
Ultera offers an optional remote access
Graphical User Interface program called
"Ultimate" that runs under NT, Win95, Win98 and
DOS. Running on the host system, Ultimate allows the
user to remotely control up to 8 Ultera Tape Array
subsystems. |
